A very blustery yet beautiful spring day gave way to a joy-filled occasion in the very gorgeous neo-Romanesque location that is St Mirin’s Cathedral in Paisley.
With its stunning Italian marble Altar creating a back-drop that wouldn’t be out of place in a Francis Ford Coppola classic, it was to be the perfect setting for what was to be a truly unforgettable day for all present.

It was very easy to tell that the two stars of this film – Jacqueline and Patrick only had eyes for each other as they exchanged their heartfelt vows on the alter, even although Jacqueline nervously declared to Patrick “With this wing I thee wed you…!    The place descended into laughter however, and the service continued on with the hearty moment still “winging” in our ears!

Following the wedding ceremony, everyone proceeded to make our way out into the cathedral grounds for photographs but due to the weather we eventually did a u-turn and came back into the cathedral which was perfect anyway for the remaining shots to be taken.

We didn’t have to travel too far to the reception thankfully, only a stones throw to the church hall for the real fun to begin. The speeches were all great, but none moreso than that of the best man and brother to the Groom –  John, who served up a bellyful of laughs to all the guests as he proceeded to pick on all the ushers in a bit good humoured banter about their role on the stag weekend. At the end of the speeches a beautiful touch was made by one of the children who sang the classic Cohen song “Hallelujah”, and had half the place in tears.

The tone was therefore set for the rest of the evening – and boy did this party want to PARTY!   Not till the final strains of “Loch Lomond” towards the very end of the evening was there any let up in the celebrations, and were it not for the cleaners wanting in to start clearing up, this party would’ve surely continued all night long!
